The measurement of actual Internet connection speed is affected by the following factors:

• the number of apps simultaneously using the network

• the use of a wireless connection (Wi-Fi)

• the network route taken to reach the test server

• the time of day you perform the measurement and the level of network congestion at that moment

• the methodology used by the speed test (i.e., the size of the file exchanged between the server and your computer during the measurement)

Important: The actual speed is expected to be lower than the nominal (sync) network speed due to the “translation” of network communication protocols. If the test is performed from a computer connected to a different network, the results may show lower speeds due to Internet delays.
