What are other calls with local charges and how can I protect myself from them?

Other calls charged at local rates are those made to 4-digit and 5-digit numbers starting with 10, 11, 13, 15, 18, and 10-digit numbers starting with 801, which are charged at local rates and are not included in the unlimited local call benefits of the plans. Landline numbers in Greece included in the national landline call allowance are 10-digit numbers starting with 2. The local call rate is determined according to the price list of each usage plan.

*Important: There are numbers starting with 10, 11, 13, 15, 18 that are charged at a higher rate than the standard local rate.

Which calls are included in my plan’s bundled benefits? How can I tell which calls are free and which are not?

Packages with calls to National Landlines (local and long-distance within Greece) include calls to 10-digit numbers starting with 2XXXXXXXXX. Also, the benefits for national mobile calls in Greece only include calls to 10-digit numbers starting with 69XXXXXXXX. Calls to short codes (4-digit / 5-digit or 6-digit numbers) with local charges, as well as numbers starting with 801XXXXXXXX, are not included in your plan’s bundled benefits and are charged at local rates, which will appear on your next bill.

*Tip: Calls to 10-digit numbers in the format 800XXXXXXXX are free of charge.

How can I protect myself from these charges?

At Vodafone, we protect our subscribers in two ways:

  1. By informing our subscribers about the digital option to block certain categories of 5-digit numbers (see more information here)

  2. By offering the option to set a maximum call charge limit for your service when your bill charges exceed a certain amount

The above services are provided FREE of charge to Vodafone subscribers and do not incur any fees (for activation, deactivation, or maintenance) on your monthly bill.

*Note: When charges outside your plan exceed the maximum charge limit you have selected, a block is activated on the service to prevent further charges.
