How can I enable or disable 4G on my phone?

With the Vodafone 4G network, you can enjoy fast wireless internet on your Smartphone or Tablet through mobile data.

To access 4G signal, the following requirements must be met:

  • 4G network coverage with base stations and antennas

  • A device that supports 4G. Your device must be labeled as 4G (or LTE). A 3G device cannot be used on a 4G network. On the other hand, a 4G device supports all previous generations, such as 3G+, 3G, GPRS, etc.

Activating the 4G network

The 4G network is automatically activated for all subscribers with a 4G-compatible device. If you have an old 2G SIM, you’ll need to replace your SIM card.

If automatic activation hasn’t occurred and you want to use the 4G network, you’ll need to set up your device manually by following these steps:

  • Android Samsung: Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Mode > Select 4G/3G/2G

  • Android Huawei: Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Preferred Network Type > 4G preferred

  • Android Xiaomi: Settings > SIM Cards & Mobile Networks > Select ‘Vodafone GR’ SIM card > Preferred Network Type > LTE preferred

  • iPhone: Settings > Data > Options > Voice & Data > Select 4G, VoLTE On

  • iPhone 12: Settings > Data > Options > Voice & Data > Select 4G

Still experiencing issues?

If you’re still having trouble connecting to the 4G network after the above steps, you may need to manually set the APN on your device by following these steps according to your device:

(Important: Data must be activated.)

  • iPhone: Settings > Data > Mobile Data Network

  • Samsung: Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • Xiaomi: Settings > SIM Cards & Mobile Networks > Vodafone GR > Access Point Names

  • Huawei: Settings > Wireless & Networks Settings or Networks > Mobile Network > Access Point Names

  • Other Android devices: Settings > More > Mobile Network > Access Point Names
