You can monitor your mobile data usage by changing your device settings.
If you have iOS*, follow the instructions below:
From the main menu, select "Settings," go into each app, and enable/disable the use of mobile data. This way, you can decide whether the apps you’ve downloaded on your phone can use mobile data or only work via WiFi.
From the main menu, select "Settings," then "General," and "Background App Refresh." Here, you can also limit background data usage per app, as well as whether the apps you’ve downloaded can refresh in the background with WiFi and/or mobile data.
If you have Android*, follow the instructions below:
From Settings, select "Data Usage." There, you can see your total usage for the last 30 days and the consumption per app. For example, if your plan gives you 10GB and renews every 14th of the month, you can set a usage limit of 10GB and have the measurement period start every 14th. This way, you’ll always be aware of your usage.
Select "Settings," "Data Usage," and then "Data Saver." There, you can set whether the apps you’ve downloaded can refresh in the background or not.
From the menu, select "Settings" and then "Mobile Hotspot." Once selected, enable it and change the "Password" to protect your mobile data usage from third parties connecting with an unknown device without your approval.
If you have an Android device, you can also monitor your data usage and see which apps consume the most data through the My Vodafone app. For this information to be available, location settings need to be enabled.
Follow these steps:
From the app’s home screen, select the "Menu" icon.
Then select "Services and Tools."
In the "My Network" section, choose "Network Usage."
There you’ll find the "Data Usage per App" field. Here, the top 10 apps by data consumption are displayed.
*Menu wording may vary depending on your device and software version.
