Vodafone World of Difference - Winners 2013

In the programme’s third year, we received 242 applications in total, and we singled out the 5 applicants who worked for a year at the charity of their choice.

 

The programme’s successful applicants, who shall dedicate their valuable skills and experience and work at the charity of their choice for a whole year, are the following:

Paraskevi Vasileiadou


Paraskevi Vasiliadou
worked as an Elderly Support Programme Manager at ‘ARSIS’ in Kozani in order to provide counselling in four sectors: Psychological support, social empowerment, day-to-day practical problem-solving and money saving. Paraskevi holds a degree from the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology by the University of Ioannina. 

Throughout the year the following workshops attended by 113 persons were designed and implemented : 
Alzheimer’s prevention, Painting and Constructions, Therapeutic games and Strengthening of Social Skills.

 

Mili Yalavouzi



Mili Gialabouzi
worked at the Greek Down’s Syndrome Association. Mili holds a degree in Philosophy by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Master degree in European Literature and Culture. Throughout the year she implemented a program of functional and social skills for 18 persons, as well as a programme of communication skills on 30 persons from three different age groups.

 

Zoi Lyberopoulou



Zoe Lymberopoulou
worked as Educational Programmes Manager at the Museum of the City of Athens - Vourou –Evtaxia Foundation. Zoe is a musician and she holds a degree in Humanities and Social Sciences by the University of Patras and a Master degree in Theatre Studies (Philosophy Department) by the University of Athens. Throughout the year, 4 training programmes were designed and became operational, as well as 2 informative leaflets which are distributed for free to the museum’s visitors.

 

Stavroula Ropi

Stavroula Ropi worked as a Psychologist at the Association for the Psychosocial Health of Children and Adolescents (A.P.H.C.A). Stavroula graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology (Psychology programme) of the National University of Athens and holds a Master degree in Mental Health Promotion and Prevention of Psychiatric Disorders School of Medicine of the National University of Athens. She is also a PhD candidate of Athens Medical School and Research Fellow in the emergency department treatment of Child Psychiatry "Aghia Sophia". Throughout the year, 1,159 telephone calls were answered, increasing the rate of received calls by the company’s services by 24%.

 

Evgenia Touriki

Evgenia Touriki worked as a Psychologist at the Daycare Center for dementia patients at the Athens Alzheimer’s & Related Disorders Association. Eugenia studied Psychology, at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences and she holds a Master degree from the School of Medicine by the Kapodistrian University of Athens. During the programme, 50 patients participated to groups of preventive therapy, while 79 individual and 129 telephone counselling sessions to patients’ relatives were performed. Moreover, she trained 90 relatives and paid patient caregivers, who participated in seminars for caregivers (28 hours of training).
